Wine description
The Antinori's Chianti Superiore Santa Cristina is made in the vineyards located in the heart of the renowned Chianti DOCG. It is a blend of Sangiovese together with other complementary varieties, harvested and selected only by hand. This Chianti Superiore is a perfect pair with roast meat and game, it is ideal in combination with first courses and aged cheeses.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose opens with intense aromas of red fruit that recalls cherry, enriched with pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is tasty, with well integrated tannins and a red fruit aftertaste that follows the sensations perceived by the nose.
Vinification
The fermentation takes place, with separated maceration for the different grape varieties: the most consistent part vinifies for 10-12 days at a controlled temperature of 30 ° C to enrich itself in complexity. The other part for 7-8 days at maximum temperatures of 25 ° C to extract more soft tannins and preserve fruit aromas.
Ageing
Aged for 10 months in steel and wood before being bottled.
