Wine description
Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes is the oldest of the Domain's wines made with 100% Syrah grapes, it was created during the 1970s to highlight the long-standing family vineyard. Vines for this wine are located in the heart of the appellation, facing those we first replanted. Les Vieilles Vignes is a wine that reflects Alain Voge's history and winemaking. Great expression of the territory, with incredible aging potential.
Tasting Notes
It is deep and complex already from the color, on the nose there are aromas of blackberry, blueberries and black currants, delicate spiciness, slightly sulphurous with pleasant ash flavors. In the mouth it's vibrant, with an excellent balance, all accompanied by a non-invasive tannin and a good softness.
Vinification
Fermentation with natural yeasts and maceration for several weeks in stainless steel vats, with cap-punching and pumping-over done twice a day.e
Ageing
Maturation in 228-litre barrels for 20 months, with 15% new barrels.
