Wine description
The Antica Fratta's winery started the first production of Quintessence in 2005. It's a Franciacorta with unique organoleptic characteristics: able to astonish, to involve, and to excite those who tasted it. A Franciacorta that evolves in the glass to create a new emotion with every sip. In 2019, after 100 months of resting on the lees, a special reserve, the Quintessence Extra Brut 2009, celebrates Antica Fratta's 40th anniversary. Recommended for the whole meal, especially with entrées, flavoursome meat and fish dishes. Ideal with salamis and cheese.
Tasting Notes
Colour: intense yellow with gold highlights. Scent: intense and harmonious, with notes of dried fruit, aromatic herbs, ripe citrus, golden apple, light sweet spices and custard. Taste: involving, elegant with a fine structure and pleasant freshness. Fine, persistent and creamy mousse.
Vinification
Harvest: Between the end of august and early September, when the grapes have reached the correct sugar ripeness, but still have considerable acidity and freshness. Maturation: 100 months resting on yeasts.
