Santa Cristina 2001 Antinori
Wine description
Santa Cristina cellars were founded in 2006 to confirm and renew the tradition of the wine with the same name, produced since 60 years. Santa Cristina Rosso sinks its roots into the tradition of the daily work; it is a wine capable to express softness, envelopment and a great pleasure in drinking.
Tasting Notes
The Santa Cristina shows a full red color with purplish highlights. The nose, pleasurable and intense, offers fruity notes of cherries, blackberries, and plums fused with aromas of vanilla and coffee. The palate is supple, enveloping, and full of fruit on the finish and aftertaste.
Vinification
The picking began in September, as is the traditional practice, with the Merlot and the Syrah and continued with the Sangiovese. The harvest concluded with the harvest of the Cabernet during the first week of October. The grape varieties are fermented separately on their skins for a week in stainless steel tanks at a temperature held to a maximum of 25 °C.
Ageing
The aging process happens mainly in stainless steel tanks with a small part aged in oak.
