Wine description
The Supertuscan of Montalcino. The legacy of Giacomo Tachis, known as the father of Super Tuscan wines, for Argiano. Since 1995 it represents power and boldness, pride and longevity.
Tasting Notes
Dark purple color. Great expressiveness on the nose, black berry fruit, spices, well integrated wood, chocolate and coffee. Soft and round palate but with an excellent acid boost. Firm but soft tannins. Powerful and explosive while maintaining a surprising freshness.
Vinification
Separate fermentation of the various grape types, maceration for about 20 days and malolactic fermentation in concrete.
Ageing
Aged about 18 months in French barriques, specifically selected for this wine. 60% new and 40% used wood.
