Wine description
Summus is an intense and deep Supertuscan that represents very well the potential of the three vines that compose it (Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Syrah). A wine characterized by a very intense aroma of ripe fruit and plum and cherry jam, accompanied by notes of vanilla, coffee and tobacco. Large, important and elegant structure.
Tasting Notes
The color is intense and deep. The sweet and fruity aromas of ripe cherries and plums also flanked by buttery and toasted notes, with a finish of vanilla and coffee. Structure of great elegance and balance, with wide and persuasive tannins. Of great persistence.
Vinification
The 3 varieties are vinified separately in temperature-controlled (25-30°C) Horizon hybrid stainless steel & wood tanks.
Ageing
A short passage in wood - Sangiovese in French oak barrels (60 and 90 hl,) Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in French oak barrique of 350 liters - follow.
